WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University football team has received the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) season schedule for the fall of 2023, as released by the league earlier this month. 

With the recently announced departure of Upper Iowa University from the NSIC, previously established schedules in football were re-engineered by the conference to equitably accommodate a 13-team league rotation. 

In 2023, Winona State will open their NSIC slate in week two, hosting Concordia University, St. Paul on Saturday, Sept. 9. An early-season rematch at Bemidji State University on Saturday, Sept. 16 is among the highlights Warriors' campaign and back-to-back home dates to finish the regular season will include rival Minnesota State Mankato on Saturday, Nov. 4  Overall, Winona State will have five home games in 2023 and play on the road on five occasions.

In 2022, Winona State earned a 8-4 overall record, a share of the NSIC South title with a 5-1 mark and advanced to the NCAA Division II postseason for the eighth time in program history. First-year head coach Brian Bergstrom and his staff saw ten Warriors named All-NSIC, while Carter Duxbury earned the prestigious 2022 NSIC Glen Galligan award.
