THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 71, Concordia 66
LOCATION: Memorial Auditorium, Moorhead, Minn.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Auggies held the advantage in the opening minutes, working their way to a 17-11 lead just seven minutes into the game. The Cobbers responded with six unanswered to tie the game, but the Auggies quickly jumped back on top and held a narrow lead for most of the remainder of the half. At halftime, Augsburg led by just one point at 41-40.
• The Cobbers regained the lead early in the second half and pushed it as high as seven points, but the Auggies refused to go down as they stormed back to tie the game at 58 with 7:15 on the clock. Sam Olson (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) hit a jumper in the paint less than a minute later that put Augsburg back on top for what proved to be the final time. The Cobbers gave them a scare as they made it a one-point game with just 1:30 to play, but Augsburg was able to withstand the pressure and push the lead back to five by the time the final buzzer sounded.
• Hasaan had a career night, scoring 20 points on 7-12 shooting and grabbing five rebounds, a block, and a steal.
• A trio of Auggies including Olson, Bradley Winter (SR, Winona, Minn./Winona HS), and Will Blascziek (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) logged 10 points each in the game, a career-high scoring number for Olson. It was Blascziek's sixth-straight game scoring in double figures while Winter came just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine.
• The Auggie offense had a solid night shooting the ball, shooting 25-49 (51.0%) from the floor while the defense held the Cobbers to 42.9% shooting. Augsburg dominated the battle underneath the basket, outscoring the Cobbers in the paint by a margin of 34-18.
