Graceland University announces Men's Basketball Knocks off Grand View

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Basketball team defeated the Grand View (Iowa) University Vikings. The Yellowjackets move to 16-9 on the season and are 11-8 in the Heart.

Graceland raced out to an early 11-0 lead over the Vikings. Grand View would break the run with a free throw and a 5-0 scoring jump (12-5). Both teams traded buckets throughout, and Graceland steadily added to their advantage. With under 4:30 minutes left in the half, the Yellowjackets would find their groove, putting up an 11-2 score run (38-20); Seth Compas and Sam'i Roe contributed. With a last-second layup, the Vikings would close the first half by scoring. Graceland leads by 16 points (40-24).  

Half 2: Graceland 36 | Grand View 41
The Yellowjackets would sink the first basket of the second half with a layup from Aleksa Markovic (42-24). The Vikings would answer with an 8-2 point jump to close their deficit to 12 points (48-36). Graceland retaliated minutes later, started from the charity stripes by Seth Compas, who helped push a seven-point collection (64-45); Sam'i Roe and Aleksa Markovic Contributed. In the remaining five minutes of play, both teams would trade baskets; the Vikings would end the game with a last-minute 8-1 run. The Yellowjackets would hold their 11-point lead to take the victory (76-65).
